I like Rockboard but I’m not sure how you would need it. Especially if it a guitar/bass board. This is their Tres 3.0 to start with.

I looked at that one. It was my second choice. Ended up ordering the strich standard 15x12 that size kept things more compact aestically. Appreciate you!

I'm in. This will be on a nano board with a Peterson tuner and a night owl industries Edison. I'm really into building 3 or 4 pedal mini boards right now, and I found the preamp at an open box deal for 170, so why not? This will be running into the power amp of my V4B reissue, so I'll have the mesa flavor available when I want it. I'll get it put together and report back after some playing time.
Here is the setup. Sounds really really good. I'm not good a describing sound, but it is just clean and direct, but with plenty of warmth as well. Told you, not good at it. The voicing control is very useful, and helped me find a basic sound very quickly for various basses. Speaking of: my fretless player plus with a warmoth neck sounds particularly good through this setup, especially with the preamp bypassed. Big fat presence. I think that I have a lot covered tone wise with this, my v4b, and my ACB 50.

Cool foot pedal buttons! They look like they'd be much more comfortable with bare feet!
Yup, straight into the power amp. Pre and master volume get controlled with the pedal. Yeah, those pedal toppers are the nicest I've found. All aluminum. Got em off Amazon I think.
Picked up one of these last week and love it so far. It's so nice having low mid and high mid sweepable bands in a pedal along with pre/post switch for eq, an HPF, and aux and headphone jacks. Well done, Mesa!

It really does seem to have all the right features and functions packaged into the smallest possible footprint to allow easy access to all the controls.

I broke one of the original knobs as I was loosening the set screw.
I find in haste, I reach for the HPF knob thinking its my gain. Then I realize that gain is in the bottom row
Probably just some tape on it to remind me when I'm in a hurry until I get it burned into my chip set

Colored knobs make sense to me.I may have to do something like this.

But my way of coding functions with colors might make sense only to me. And if I change my mind, I don't really want to remove and reinstall an entire knob.
It seems likely that knobs colored by function at the factory might not match the way I think.
I'd like to see amps come with an accessory package of colored bits of plastic, silicone, or rubber that can be easily attached to, or removed from, individual knobs as the user sees fit.
Perhaps colored knob caps, which can be affixed in a recess on the top of each knob.
Perhaps vacuum molded silicone or plastic sleeves, which the user can slide on and off at will.
Perhaps illuminated knob function dots on the chassis, with user selectable light colors.
Are any of you aware of businesses who already sell chameleon-like knobs?

Mesa flavor? I'd say the MkII is nearly a spice rack.

Nice! I see what ya did there. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm so smitten with the Mesa stuff that I now have an 800d on the way as well.
I love amps and preamps. Especially great sounding ones. I think it will be cool to have both the di + and the 800d available.
Now to start saving for a sw 2x15. . .

I’m generally wary of using colored knobs for applications like this because of the number of players I have encountered with various types of color blindness.
I do tend to use colored knob groupings on mixing consoles however because the benefits and shadings make the groupings more obvious. (Red for gain, green for eq, etc)
