Subway cabs any good?

Trevor Nichols HOWDY! New member here. Been searching info on which bass head to buy and with all the research I picked the Mesa TT800. Thought it is a cool little amp and it is. So I put it on top of my svt610 and it seems under powered and murky. Link Removed

So I made sure my 118d was 4 ohm and it is. So installed on the 118d bw equipped and a world of difference.


Tried running both together on 2 ohm and the peavey takes the lead. It's louder, cleaner and cuts through like butter. Looks like I'm gonna need to sell my 610 to help fund some subway speakers.

Has anyone try the subway 210 and 115 cabs together? I would rather run 2 ohms but can live with 4. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome. Go on over to the Subway club thread. Plenty of comments about that setup. Lots of love for it. Someone posted pics of it a few minutes ago. Also the Mesa designer Agedhorse is a frequent contributor. Official Mesa Boogie Subway Series Club

I kinda read through and it helped me confirm my purchase of the TT800. Just got it Thursday and rehearsed with it Friday and man it cuts through. Better than any ampeg I've owned.

Welcome! Yes, I've been playing the Subway 210 and 115 for a while and really like the clarity and punch and the way the cabs project. I drove them with a Mesa Subway head, at 4 Ohms/800W.

For shows I often turn one cab towards the drummer (she likes that) and one towards myself and the audience. They are so easy to move around, and both fit in the back of my car, a mid sized SUV along with my head and gig bag.

I have them both for sale now, mint condition, like in my signature below.

You might like 2 Subway 15's. As many have said, they are not your typical 15 cabs - they have plenty of mid punch in addition to the lows. I personally run a Subway 15/12 stack, but someday might switch the 12 to a 15 when I have the bank. That said, I love the 15/12 (formerly with a D800, now with a TT800), no complaints. I have not tried the 210, but as others have said, you can find all sorts of commentary on the Subway thread.

I'm singing with the choir on this. I own and have gigged the 1-12, 1-15, and 2-10 cabs in various configurations. A stacked pair of 1-15s is my fave, but they're all different flavors of great.

By way of context, I'm an o-l-d cat and been through a boatload of gear over the decades--including some classics like a Fender Dual Showman, an Acoustic 370/301, and a Sunn 200/2000S. The Subway rig I've been using the past couple years is hands-down the best stage amplification I've ever had.
