SUF Green Russian vs WH Swollen Pickle

So I went through a few fuzzes, tried a musket and a WH Russian Pickle and both weren't for me. Musket had too much treble to my ears and the RP sounded great but didn't sit in well in a mix.

So I'm just gonna listen to suggestions I think and go for the SUF Civil War or Civil Unrest. If anyone likes one more than the other I'm all ears.

I use the pickle and I like it but I use fuzz sparingly. Good low end and fits my fuzz preference which is more wooly and muffy than buzzsaw. The COG tarkin and grand tarkin though........ If you can find one stateside buy it. It will likely do what you need it to do. If not someone will buy it from you. That person may be me.

Fwiw, the civil unrest I had was brighter with more treble presence than the musket I had. In those cases its about finding the sweet spot on the tone control to get the balance you want. But if you found the musket inherently bright, I would probably lean towards the Wren and Cuff tall font. To John's point though, you lose the mids control of you went with the Tall Font. I've been through something like six or so green muff clones and the differences tend to be slight and boil down to personal preference. I've wound up keeping a clone I built from GGG and added a mids knob to. But it took flipping through a bunch of pedals to get to that landing spot... and I STILL want to try others

It totally could have been my pickups, I just put new ones in that brought my other pedals to life but I already sold the musket before I could try it with the new pickups. With headphones in I liked the one youtube demo of the unrest more than the musket demos so I figure it might be a good idea to buy an unrest from a place that has a return policy of more than a week in case I have the same issue then work my way down to W&C
