There's always the second Simandl book also. It tends to get a bad rap for some reason, but the etudes in it are quite fun and get you going up into thumb position a fair bit.

Double Bass Suggestions Needed on Material to Work on Beyond Simandl

I've got a new copy available of Vance's Progressive Repertoire for the Double Bass, vol. 1 if someone's interested.
Rabbath pieces are fun, and use some non-Simandl techniques. Then there's orchestra excerpts - Le Elephant, Beethoven 9, Othello, and so on.
