Hello peoples!

I have a Fender Rumble 25 that (I think) needs a new speaker. Although in perfect shape, it sounds like someone is hitting a sheet of tin with a large trout whenever I get into the deeper tones.

I'm looking for some suggestions on a replacement speaker to fit in the cab, it's 10" and 8 ohm as per post title. I'd like to spend $150 or less, and could just get the Fender replacement for $60, but wouldn't mind something a little meatier. Any suggestions?

Is the box ported or sealed? Bear in mind that most combo amps have boxes far too tiny to achieve any real low end, so the best you're going to do is get some upper bass in most situations (bloom & boom).

It's sealed, and I'm not looking for thundering ass-kickery out of this little combo, I just don't want it to sound like pure crap when I'm playing.

For $150, my options are limited around these parts, most small used amps are $200 or higher, and I'd rather not go for anything smaller.

Not sure if it's the speaker that's the problem or not, but my cables and both basses are good so it's a good place to start.

Here's my thinking; if I buy a nice speaker and it fixes my problem, I'm good to go. If it doesn't fix my problem, it's in the electronics, and not being savvy in that regard, I'll be looking for something new anyway...but I'll have a decent speaker and a possibly ok speaker (existing one) so can convert this box into just a cab, or build myself a second cab and just buy a head to power both of them.

Sooooo...back to the original question; any recommendation for decent 10" speaker?
