WOW! That is lucky!. And the neck really is beautiful. I've loved playing on a raw roasted maple neck. I just hope it balances well for you on the new body - those steel reinforcements are hefty.

WOW! That is lucky!. And the neck really is beautiful. I've loved playing on a raw roasted maple neck. I just hope it balances well for you on the new body - those steel reinforcements are hefty.
They call that the "Warhead" ( I have a couple of them in progress that I will finish assembling someday...)
They don't offer correct. Their shape is slightly Fender-ish but I always found that for a brand that has Fender Licence, they don't really use the licence because they don't make the correct shape. Also I don't really find that when they do two piece maple necks, the fingerboard is cut weirdly:
and if you compare to a Fender original headstock:
Yellow area: more corny and less rounded than Fender
Orange area: the Fender signature "S" wave under the logo is far from being correct
Blue area: the fingerboard slope is longer than on a Fender neck
For these reason, I don't think Warmoth necks are the most accurate if you went a "Fender Shaped" neck. I even wonder if Fender could sue them if they weren't using the licence. To me it's different enough.
That untreated roasted Warmoth neck feels great, I have one myself. It's slightly rougher than the roasted neck on my Elwood bass, and that's why I really like it.
Second step : test the color of my tint to see if it matches the padauk fretboard : check !
Did a first test in the neck pocket and was close enough for me so went ahead with one layer of water based cherry red tint.

Nevertheless, this padauk wood will brownish over time so it might look different 10 years later ?
Third step : getting approval from Dark Horse : check !
