Sunmachine Walkure Fuzz

I'm glad you guys like that short clip. I'm going to do a video as well when the Reptile fuzz gets here.


I can't wait to get this thing out and about on the mini tour! Going to have some killer clips/videos! This thing is going to have the proper show casing pretty soon!

Hah! It's not THAT bad, but it definitely sounds better in passive mode.

Walkure, Reptile fuzz and a special extra (Creepyfingers Double Beast son!!!!!) are on the road!

Anyone who has been watching this thread, be on the watch out for some kick ass demos coming up from some of the top demo doing guys out there!


I should have done a demo of the Reptile fuzz because it is soooooooooooooooooooo good. Seriously. One knob and it sound AMAZING. I don't think that sucker needs a blend at all. I opened it up and was surprised to see the circuit board actually has some stuff going on in there! I figured it'd be a bazz fuss or something, but I don't think so. I'm really curious what this circuit is because it's great! Anyway, I was too excited to get these out for demos, so yea. I'll demo it when it gets back.

OK. I got to play on this beast for 10 minutes or so. And wow.

First off, I play on a Status S2-Classic (really active) into an Ashly SC-40 and that into a Mesa Boogie Strategy 400.

As with most fuzzes, I started this bad boy off full on. I can't help myself. My first impression was a wall of sound. FUZZZZZZZ. But articulate where you could still hear the distinct pitch of each note. It didn't get so muddy that you couldn't tell the pitch. Even down playing on my low B you could clearly make out each pitch. But it was freaking crunchy. I've been looking for my SLOW, HEAVY fuzz and I was like "this is it". Just blankets and blankets of fuzz. I noticed that it didn't track well when playing fast. I mean, it was a slow heavy fuzz....so you wouldn't want it to....but that just gives you an idea of what type of fuzz we're talking about.

THEN, I dialed some of the controls back and started getting sounds that more resembled my TAFM or old Unpleasant Surprise. It started tracking fast patterns EXTREMELY well. Like, I was getting some Steve Harris galloping bass lines going and you could still pick out each notes attack. And it was still pretty fuzzy at this point. So this thing can do the fast tracking medium fuzz, too.

Insanely versatile. Normally a pedal will do one thing well, but that's two very important things to me that this pedal does great. I'll play with it more tomorrow....will be back on early in the week to post final thoughts. Or to bid adu to all of my TB brethren as I take jwr's pedal and escape to Zihuatanejo. Either way.

Ok. In order to believe you, you're going to have to send me your Status and rig. That's the only way I can understand how good it sounded. :D

It's good to hear pros and cons from people too. Grygrx didn't dig it as much, but he has good explanations and the demos helped, even though I dug the tone in 90% of his demo. Heh. Here's a link just for those of you who didn't see/hear his demos.

How'd you like the Creepy Fingers? Try the Walkure and Reptile stacked too. I didn't get to do that.
