Which Super Fuzz clone would you recommend that I check out? Tonight at practice I played my guitar players creepy fingers super fuzz clone and loved it, especially because it has a blend knob on it.
Are their any other Super Fuzz clones out there that are worth checking out? If they have a blend knob that would be even better.
    Thanks

I'm not surprised to hear the Creepy Fingers sounds good.
the BYOC Leeds Fuzz is really good, so is the Boss FZ-2, neither have clean blend but they don't suffer extreme low end loss. personaly I don't like clean blending, much prefer eq.

The creepy Fingers sounded amazing. If I can avoid dropping that kind of dough on a pedal that I won't use very often, I'd like to.

I mainly use an OX bass fuzz and absolutely love it. It just doesn't get nasty enough for what I want to use it for.

  4. Here is a list of some others, but none of them have a blend:
    Black Cat Super Fuzz
    smallsound/bigsound Super Puzzle
    Quinnamp Prophet/mantis
    Wattson EFY-6

I'm pretty sure Brian has made a Super Puzzle with a blend before.

There are a lot of clones, but I would recommend... Creepy Fingers!

Brad is a really an expert when it comes to Super Fuzzes.

You might ask him for one built to Ibanez Standard Fuzz specs (which is generally Super Fuzz variant, but has a bit more bass itself).

Katana Sound "Super Bass Fuzz" is also great, but I don't think it would be cheaper.

Switchable octave is also a nice feature, as Super Fuzz also sounds great without it.

I had Brad build me a Superfuzz with a blend & it's the nicest pedal I own/have owned. Extremely well built & sounds excellent.

Whatever you do, don't get the Behringer SF clone! Not bad for $30 but it only has two tones...super scooped mosquito tone, or grossly forward mids that can't be dialed down.

  9. get something with a bland for sure, Superfuzz is not known for low-end retention...

Yea I saw that and was kind of meh on it.

It looks like I'm just going to have to drop the dough on a Creepy Fingers

  12. Just saw this one today. A straight clone, one of the less expensive ones I've seen. And, well, it's Ron ****ing Swanson!

You won't be disappointed. The key to Brad's take on the Super Fuzz is the continuosly variable blend between the 2 fundamental Super Fuzz voicings....one having a mid-scoop and the other having a mid-bump. He's a bassist that has a huge knowledge of all that is fuzz.

yeah, I agree with having a scoop control as opposed to a switch. I also added a scoop frequency selector and a clean blend on mine too.
