:hmm: I was disappointed. It wasn't bad, it was just kind of...flat.

Gotta love Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor though. And, there was a Spiderman 3 trailer.

Anyone else?

Marshall

I thought it was pretty good- a lot better than I'd thought it would be.

Long-winded though- they could have cut 45 min off of it and the pace would have been much better. A movie like X-men with all of its different, unique and fascinating characters could go on for four hours and keep me entertained, but Superman's far less interesting, seeing as how he can do pretty much everything and there's not much interesting background on him.

Spider-Man 3 should be good- I'm not sure if they've have Venom in it or if it's just about the alien costume...they'd probably save Venom for the fourth movie (if there is one).

This thread reminded me that SMR came out today. As soon as I saw this thread, I rushed to the theatre.

Overall, I thought it was a great movie. There were a lot of plot points I didn't like at all, though. But for a 2 and a half hour movie, it seemed to go by pretty quick.

And yes, Kevin Spacey is absolutely perfect.

I just got back from it. I liked it a lot. Admittedly I haven't seen the first two Superman movies (which this apparently is supposed to be a follow-up to). But they're high on my list.

The pacing was quite quick for a 2.5 hour movie. I've seen plenty of movies that were an hour shorter but felt twice as long.

Spacey was awesome, but that was expected....It's KEVIN SPACEY!!!

I thought the same thing after seeing it last night. I went to the john 2 or 3 times, answered a phone call, and got a coke refill during the movie. I've NEVER done that before in a movie. Usually if I'm not any more interested in it than that I'll just leave.

As far as Spidey 3.......I'm REALLY hoping for a 4th, and I'm REALLY hoping Hobgoblin will be in it!!! :hyper:
Very happy to see that Sandman and Green Goblin 2 are going to be in this one though.

i don't know about superman...

but for those who haven't heard about spiderman 3, there WILL BE FOUR VILLAINS. :eyebrow:

1) sandman
2) venom (topher grace from that 70s show)
3) green goblin
4) ????

a 4th villian?? imdb.com lists the following..

James Franco .... Harry Osborn/Green Goblin
Thomas Haden Church .... Flint Marko/Sandman
Topher Grace .... Eddie Brock/Venom

It's also going to be interesting how they will introduce venom so quickly.....

Wow, Topher Grace for the Venom role? That wasn't expected. I thought they would most likely get some no name really buff guy to play Brock/ Venom. I enjoy Topher Grace's acting, but normally just because he's so funny. This should be interesting.

I saw it last night and thought it was excellent. I liked the way they used John Williams' original theme and the clips and voice overs with Marlon Brando. Kevin Spacey was awesome.

We did not get the Spiderman III trailer. :hmm:

Batman is still my favorite. I understand the same director and creative team is signed up for a sequel with Christian Bale.

Seriously- Eddie Brock is supposed to be a big buff man- he's supposed to be equal to Spider-Man in abilities but have much greater physical strength.

Yeah, part of Eddie/Venom's rage towards Spider-Man is that everything he has was handed to him, while Eddie had to work for it -- he even says this as he's pumping a couple hundred pounds of weights in one issue.

I'll definitely be interested to see how Topher Grace does Venom...weird. Then again, they certainly buffed up Tobey a lot for the movies, too.
