Superman Returns

WHAT?!?!?! Gau and Strago were two of my best characters. Of course I barely ever used the Blue Magic aside from grand train. I kicked Kefka's ass using only Gau, Strago, Locke, and Shadow.

incredible.

also, when both my brother and i played our respective games of FF3, we each "lost" shadow after the floating continent sequence. neither of us accessed shadows flashback-dreams.... is this why? otherwise, we followed the necessary steps to get him in our party for the world of ruin.

So you waited on him? If you wait on him on the floating continent, he'll be in the veldt cave in the world of ruin. After you rescue him , he goes to Thamasa to heal then runs away to the colusiem(yeah I spelled it wrong) . You have to wager the Striker to fight him. He is easily beaten , then he joins you. No dream sequence required. Though they are kinda cool.

there was supposed to be a sequence of him jumping into your airship. he wasn't in the cave in the veldt--relm was there, instead.

anyway, i saw superman returns today with my grandparents. it was better than i expected. the superman character--indeed, just about all DC properties--does nothing for me, as it's hard to root for a character who can do anything and never really seems to be in actual danger.

i thought that kate bosworth was fairly plain looking (and had a tyra banks-esque forehead).... i believe this comment warrants some more bikini shots, courtesy of cheezewiz, no? :p

and lois' kid's haircut made me want to smack him. it was nice, though, to see james marsden in a super hero movie in which he got some lines.

kevin spacey continues to be the man. anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain, "WROOOONG!" :D

I thought the cinematography and cgi were beautiful (I saw the digital version) ...

but aside from Spacey as Lex Luther, the acting was poor (the new superman is annoying), the script and dialog was just awful, and ... what's with the score ... the same 8 bars of John Williams' them over and over and over for 2.25 hours. Aghhhh!

What were they thinking?

I saw it last night with some friends. I enjoyed it, but it did go on way too long. It seemed like they had a few possible endings, and instead of choosing one they just put them all in there and let the conclusion drag on for 30 or 45 minutes.

The computer graphics were great for everything BUT Superman, I thought. Especially during the outer space scenes, the movements and animation of the Superman character weren't really up to snuff. It looks especially weak after seeing the new Pirates movie, which has some awesome CG characters.

I had a chance to see the film (Superman) while I was staying in Hollywood and I thought it was atrocious.

I fell asleep about... 5 or 6 times and I'm a huge film fanatic. It's rare for me to literally be bored to drowsiness.

One of the problems was the pacing. I felt like the action sequences were tacked on because the screenplay was too enamored with the concept of putting the original Superman series on a golden pedestal... that and making Superman the most dangerous cinematic stalker in existence.
