Well, I need a thumb rest. So I grabbed a piece of old cypress wood and went to work.
It works great, and required zero modifications to the bass.

Upgrade Update!
I removed the 1 Meg pot in my H1 and replaced it was a 500k pot with a better volume taper. The 500k pot smoothed out the high end in a subtle, but nice way. I find myself not touching my tone knob as much, because theres a little less bark and honestly sounds even closer to a P IMHO.

Crackling means it might just be a dirty pot. Doesn't mean the pot is bad. Try just working the pot a little bit and it might clean it up. If not you can get a bottle of Deoxit at the hardware store and pray a little bit in there
It's very possible that might be another reason why. Either way, I wouldn't bother with it if you're gonna replace the pot with something more substantial.
I don't have the Piezo version. I haven't seen the wiring, but I can imagine that anything is possible!
I'm almost happy with my Huntington3.
Setup with pickups cranked down almost as low as they will go and strings that are consistent in tone & volume has my problematic flabby/indistinct "E" string issue almost solved.

I sold my H2. It was a wonderful bass and sounded great on a few recordings, but I needed to sell one bass and that was the only one not giving me the warm fuzzies.

Can I get a number? Here's my Huntington II.
The E is not at all weak on my HIII's, but they required different strings and some pickup tweaking. Also, the E requires serious pressure to set the witness point at the bridge. PM me for guidance on this.

I definitely had to move he pickup up quite a bit. Try moving both sides up and adjust for volume. String change would also make a difference depending on what strings you use.
I think the blue is just amazing on the bass. A great colour anyway. #14 you are, and a great choice!

I am torn between what model to get for a different flavour for my rock band. Aside from aestethics and versatility, is there a difference in the ability to cut through, meatiness or "weight" in the sound when comparing the 1-pu version to the 3-pu one, for example?
