But it was still kind of out of reach for most lower-middle-class people and below. A Fender bass was relatively expensive. AFAIK, it would have been as expensive as a moderately vintage P bass today (going for about 6-8k).
Nah. At that point in the game it was just a used bass, no more no less. Pretty much the equivalent of a 2015 P-Bass nowadays value-wise. A couple of months of diligent saving and off you go.
I'd love to see a Fender CS Suzy Quatro signature model - especially this year, to celebrate her 75th birthday - but that ain't happening.
