SVT-410HE and B2RE

Until I came to talkbass, I never really thought about speaker area, nor did I compare them for volume difference. Over the 35 years of playing, I ve played through pretty much every speaker configuration. To me, 10 inch speakers lacked in the low end, except for a Ampeg 8 10 I played for awhile, and settled on 15 s for the sound I preferred. The only 10 in speakers I currently have are in a Hartke 2 10 combo I use for practice. It has been 10 or so years since my last 10 in cab (Ampeg 210 cabs) and I guess I have been out of touch with technology and stuck in the habit of using 15 in cabs. Maybe it s time I reevaluate and try some new 2 10s . This is why I love talkbass. Teaching an old dog new tricks.

Nothing wrong with 15"s. I have 3 15" cabs my own self. But yeah, it's not at all about the size of the speaker compared to the overall design of the cab. I'm sure you can find 15" cabs that suck, too ;)
