SVT 7 Pro - Reliability Issues fixed?

I managed to score a Gator 2u soft rack case so i put the ears on my 7 pro and I use that.

I keep the power cable and speakon cable permanently connected to the amp and just coil up the leads in the back of the case and zipper it up. its nice to be able to place the softrack case on the cab connect it all up in 30 seconds and be good to go.

I purchased my 7PRO used and it came with a 2U rack case. I feel much more comfortable with it in a rack. My previous 7PRO was not racked and no rack ears. I felt a little worried when transporting.

Reporting back after first band practice and a few days of noodling around at home. I like the sound of it with the PN410hlf cab ALOT. The only minor complaint I have is that the fan is really loud. It seems like the fan comes on full speed as soon as I turn the amp on and runs on high constantly. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this by design or not?

Yeah i think that the fan in the 7 pro is single speed and just runs. I didnt find it too noisy - its no noisier than the hum and noise that comes from our guitarist's pedals.

I hired a SVT-CL head and it was the same.

I have a GK RB 1001 ii and that amp has a variable speed fan.

As soon as you start playing the fan noise is drowned out

I guess that was my question whether or not the 7 Pro had a variable speed fan. It kind of sucks that it doesn't as the whir of the fan is substantially audible when practicing at home at normal volume levels. I obviously didn't hear it once I cranked it, so I'm sure at a a gig it wouldn't be noticed over the background noise of most clubs. However, would an amp with such a loud fan interfere with recording in any way? The Tone Hammer I borrowed from a friend to try out is really quiet. The fan on it doesn't even turn on when the amp is powered up.

I did notice the loud fan on an SVT-CL Heritage I played at Guitar Center. It was still audible even over the normal background normal background noise, but true that I didn't notice it once I started playing.

Either the amp lost power (is the IEC power inlet fully seated?), somebody powered the speaker off as a favor, or it needs to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

Greetings all. Would like to chime in on my experiences with my 7. Bought new in 2011, stopped working after 3 gigs. Ampeg sent me a reconditioned one, lasted 7 songs of the 1st set ! I called Loud Tech HQ in Washington state, Ashley in warranty promised me a brand new "revised" unit would be shipped to my home (New Jersey) when the boat from China gets in. After 3 months it arrived. It has been flawless ever since. I mostly use my 410he cab. Bigger gigs i use the 410 with a 115. All USA made classic series cabs. In regards to the ICE 2a165 chip, Infineon lists it as discontinued, along with their 265 and 365 series. Has anyone used the 2a365 chip as a replacement for the 165 series ? I listed info from the Infineon website showing this particular chip series. Ps, I always have a USA made B2RE in my car as a backup.
