SVT 7Pro compared to SVT Classic

Jim, how many amps do you have?

I had a 7 Pro. Hate to say it, but I had the cut out issue too, along with the PFs i had. I have a Classic and love it...but the 7s and PFs have a great feature in the DI being pre master volume. It's (with the 7) a tube DI. The Classics and Heritage don't. So I grabbed a VTDI.

Im also curious about these 410 and 210 Neo cabs? Are they Tight or more like the older HLF cabs?? The HLF although may have a nice deepness I feel they may be a little too low hyped for me.
I would like to know more about them

Seriously though. My dream would be to always play through a SVT and 810 cab but I need the lighter weight and the option to play through four tens or eight tens depending on the club.

I seriously love playing through this rig...

I've not tried them, Kirk, but word from Dino and Ryan at Ampeg is that they are, indeed, tighter than their other cabs. Ryan's comment was like, "Sounds like Ampeg, but a little tighter and clearer." Not sure about the deepness, but considering they got rid of the worst of the woof out of newer 410hlf cabs and added some mids back in, I would expect them to perform at least no more woofy than them, probably a good bit less so.

An answer based completely on no experience, I know. Probably shouldn't even comment. Oh well...welcome to the internet ;)

I have used the SVT-410HLF (I'm assuming you are referring to them) and I found them too "boomy" also and I don't like them. These are not them. Other than the classic SVT "stack" I'm not a big fan of sealed cabs. That's just me. I like a ported cabinet especially with 10's. Since I started playing Spectors a few years ago I've been cultivating a more mid forward tone and these speakers give me all I need. Combined with the 7Pro this is a monster rig.

Jimmy have you ever played through any GK 410 RBS cabs?

Thank you..Most of what i know about the older HLF cabs is from here on TB.. I did play the older style heavier HLF 410 as a backline at the Dallas Guitar show this year. It was actually pretty good. . A few years ago i would have LOVED it. Now a days i want a little more control..
I like LOW but i like it to be more even ... Im almost drawn to 2 210s... The power ratings would match all my amps rather well.... Im in tire kicking mode right now. Lots of options.. But im narrowing it down.

Not real far off IMHO. Now mind you, it's been a few years, and I've only ever used them with GK heads, but I've had them supplied on some of my road gigs and they weren't too far off the mark. Can't remember specifics, but I don't remember wanting to bash them with a sledgehammer or anything ;)

No doubt. I like how they sound...sealed cab, no horn. If I was to replace it it would be with the 410he...but I dont see that happening.

For a while I used an Aguilar GS412. Nice cab, but at over 100 lbs it was just too much for me. The two Pro Neo's are very versatile. One or two as needed for the club. :thumbsup: I imagine the two 212AV's are also, I just don't have an amp to handle the ohmage.
