SVT Temperature/Warmup

Hello,
My SVT-VR came via Fed-Ex today :bassist:

It has travelled from southern California up to the frigid midwest via, and is now sitting in my (pretty darn cold) basement practice space. Anything special I need to do before I turn it on to make sure there won't be any temperature shock problem? Then how long do I want to leave it on standby before playing? I may be over thinking things, but I have never owned a head such as this and want to make sure I do everything right.

Thanks :)

Congrats on the new amp!

Take it out of the box and let it come to room temperature. While you wait, read the user's manual. Set the volume knobs fully counter clockwise, the tone knobs at around noon. Make sure the speaker cab is properly connected. Leave it on standby for at least 30 seconds. Enjoy the amp.

In rare cases a tube can dislodge during shipping. You can't check out the pre-amp tubes without disassembling the amp. You can use a light and inspect the tubes in the power amp to make sure that everything looks alright. You can see if the power tubes are well seated in their sockets. The small signal tubes are sticking out of the chassis about half way. See that they are present and straight.

I was kinda wondering the same thing lately.
Where I live its cold right now lotsa snow on the ground too.
I let it warm up at least 10 minutes sometimes more
I have SVT classsic Mesa 400+ Also
I swear today after turning off the 400+
I could hear the tubes cooling off after the fan shut off
Little pings like when you shut a car off
