I have an ampeg svt3 pro and am thinking about using a sansamp to get a little controlled overdrive or Geddy tone. Anyone using the RBI rack mounted version? Mores specifically anyone using it with an SVT3? Comments always wanted. Thanks!

SVT3 and Sansamp RBI

Yes, this was my exact rig for many years, and it sounds great!
I ran the RBI into the Poweramp In on the back with no issues what-so-ever.

You would have to plug into the sansamp. Plugging in to the poweramp input on the back of the SVT bypasses all the controls on the front of the amp. With this setup the ampeg is only used as a poweramp. No tone comes from it what-so-ever.
Try the RBI like NKBassman says into your Ampeg . If you like the tone that way you might as well sell the SVT3 and get yourself a nice light poweramp to use with the RBI . You can get one with twice or three times the power and half the weight of your Ampeg for what you could sell it for . When you get the RBI A/B it with the Ampeg's pre and see which you like . If you like both and can't get by without either just use it that way , it will give you some good options . But if you like the RBI better you can lighten your rack and get mondo power for what you could get for the Ampeg . Just another option .
Haha, I was going to say that, but I was at work. 
I swapped mine out for a Carvin DCM1000. Cheap, 2x the power into 4 ohms, little lighter, and plus now I have my STV to jam with at home or for smaller gigs..
