Swapped shipping label nightmare (ft. fedex and US customs)

I cant stand Fedex. Its a toss up between them or UPS on who is worse. Get your refund and order a different bass if you can find another.
I ordered a coat a month ago that isn't still here so maybe a bass will show up!
It really seems like a location issue as to which one is worse. In my area I wouldn't trust FedEx with a pack of ramen noodles

no, what i received was a coat in a box that could not fit a bass guitar. totally different item from a totally different seller. what i meant is that the document inside, some sort of consignee document, had an item description that matched the item in the box, which is not what i bought. i'm finding it difficult to accurately explain the issue, maybe that's why fedex is confused as well.
And now somebody has a bass they can't wear?

:)

update: sunday night, seller assures me it's been located (with photos of it in a warehouse somewhere). yesterday morning, fedex calls me and asks if i've gotten it. i say no. they say ok, our trace agent hasn't been updated on anything in a while, try to get an updated tracking number if you can.

everyone saying i'm wasting my time dealing with fedex directly is probably correct, nothing i've done seems to have been of much help. BUT, assuming the seller isn't pulling my leg, we'll see if it shows up soon.
*6 months later* IT'S ON THE WAY BRO TRUST ME

2nd update: fedex closed the file on 12/1 without telling me. called twice today, found out they declared it lost after locating it (if ever there was a coincidence...).

moral of the story, use any courier except fedex for international shipments (i had an excellent experience with DHL on a different import, same brand of instrument). mostly to keep the package away from the memphis hub, which is where the trouble began. fedex reps are frankly useless from top to bottom. their customs guys will ignore you (15ish emails to a direct contact, not a single one answered), nobody will call you back, the same canned responses repeated ad nauseam every time you call

learn from my naivety!
