Hello, TalkBass!
So in my epic quest to find the ultimate stoner tone, I came across Verellen amplifiers. I also came across the pain of trying to mic up a speaker in the terrible acoustic environment of my house. I sent them a message, and we discussed the possibility of me ordering a Meatsmoke Pre-Amp bundled together with a DI. Ben Verellen was extremely professional and helpful and great, but I digress. This setup would be perfect for home recording my bass - but I'm kind of stuck as to what I should use as a monitor. I have a Fender Rumble 500 Head/Cab, and I though of using that at home to monitor my playing. However, I'm concerned as to how the amp would colour the tone coming from the pre-amp. So, I though of replacing the head with a standard 500 W power amp that doesn't have an eq or anything like that. Alternatively, I could keep all the knobs on the head at flat, and hope for the best.
What do you guys think?
