Switchable 4-ohm/8-ohm cabs?

Can I build a 2x12 cab with 8-ohm speakers that can also work as a 4-ohm cab if I run the speakers in parallel? Is this switchable?

Hi.

With two 8 Ohm speakers:

If You connect them in series, you'll get 16 Ohm.

In parallel You'll get the 4 Ohm, like you said.

It can be made switchable.

8 Ohm is not possible.

Like any other 2-throw switch- it's nothing special.

Having two is, if you want to go 4x12 and lack a 2 ohm capable amp.
