I had an 8 ohm Goliath III and a Son of Bertha 15 I was deciding on for a extension cab for my 96 Super Redhead. I compared back an forth, back and forth, and selected to keep the SOB and sell the Goliath. The SOB is warmer and splits the power equally between the three speakers (100W each or so) where with the goliath 2/3 of the power went to the redheads internal 10s and about 25W to each of the Goliath 10s. It was punchy with the goliath but didn't push it to it's effective sound level. A 4 ohm goliath would have been better. My SM400 pushed the goliath much harder and it really came alive. The SOB is much easier to carry around too. I also put Emenince Kappa Pro 10s in the redhead, BIG difference over the stock speakers. Either way you run it, alone or with extension cab, it's a classic.
