I just wanted to let you guys know it is possible to put Active Electronics in the six string and still keep it stock looking. I kept the stock pick ups which are just fine and added the (ARTEC-SE2A) to it which cost me a grand total of $20.00. The (ARTEC-SE2A) fit right in without doing anything. A good friend, Les Davis routed a hole under the pickguard just big enough to insert the battery. As You can see the stock knobs fit fine, I just need a set for the 3rd knob. I left a previous link for you guys to go to which also shows the schmatic on how to install.
This (ARTEC-SE2A) brought my 6 string pickups to life. It is not distorting, even though I have not even shielded it yet. It is clean. The Best $20.00 that I have spent in a good while

This is an Economy bass for me. I now have less than $250.00 in it at this point. I put $34.00 in new strings and $20.00 in the Active electronics. I will order the knobs for about $2 maybe $3.00 and have me a Boutique Bass

Still looking to put a new pickguard on it, I have not found a color yet that hoses me down.
