Bassbully, everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion... While I may disagree with people on occasion (or more

), I do respect everyone's opinion.
Factually speaking, you are certainly in the minority when it comes to your stance on the SX basses. For the price, nothing will touch them. And as I've said earlier, my current SX (my first of likely several) far surpassed anything I've seen from an MIM to date. And with the
very well known QC issues with the MIA line, I wouldn't surprised one bit if an SX kicked an occasional MIA's butt.
You talk about resale value, etc... A custom Conklin will run you into the $4-5k area. Try and get half that on resale. I will bet MY custom Conklin you will not. It's the same for many custom builders. Does that mean the craftsmanship is poo on said Conklins? Obviously not. Does that mean I'd rather one of them there Fenders over my Conklin? I'd rather castrate myself with an olive fork!
With my SX, I've found a cheap, and intelligent reason never to buy a Fender product. I don't give a yak's ass if the headstock doesn't say what some dude thinks it
should say. YMMV, of course, but I'm all sorts of happy.
