T/S parameters for vintage CTS 8x10 drivers?

To try answering your question better, it really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you have 4 10FL's and want more mids and alittle more low end, get the 10FH's. If you are find with the mids and want just more lows, get the B810's.

I decided to go with all Neo's because I liked their tone and really like the idea of an 88lb 8x10 cab. So, Im selling off my (4) 10fl's, (2) 10FH's and (8) B810's. They are in the classifieds with pics and explanation. Good deals. If anyone has more questions about tonal differences that weren't covered in this thread (I think that we've totally exhausted it all though) post your question here so that it adds to the knowledge on these different drivers so that others can make choices with their own cabs and projects.

I got my tuki cover and reliable hardware metal grill yesterday. Man, that grill is heavy but very nice. The neo's are on order and should be here by the end of the week at which time I'll have pics and a review. Unfortunately, I also have some home construction starting this week which will definitely hamper things along with an acoustic gig. The new grill will probably bring the cab to a total of around 90lbs. Not bad at all.

Finally got the lds loaded with the neo's. I ended up using two mod-10's for alittle more guitar character. The cab really sounds great with my old svt. I prefer the svt with this cab and the nv610 with my genz. The neo drivers sound very similar to the B810's with the B810's have more of a 120hz bump. With the wool stuffing the B810's really sound alot better and that hump sounded pretty good. The neo's have less hump and are alittle tighter. Mids and highs are similar, the neo's being just alittle clear and clean. I could have really used either one equally but, the neo's are half the weight so, they won out. Im tempted to install the two 10fh drivers for more mids but, I think the trade off to keep the cab at around 90lbs is worth it.

The reliable hardware grill is awsome but, I didn't realize how small the holes are. You really can't see the speakers at all. I'd have gone with bigger holes but, it sure is a good quality grill.

No, i'd stack them vertical so that I could do the same with the fullrange drivers. No gig yet, the gigs have really dried up here. I went from playing as much as I could physically handle to just a few times a month and there may be months without a gig during the winter. That really sucks. Any gigs that I have coming up are in places that I've never played and Im hesitant to try a new cab in an unknown room. You just can't get a fair reading of it that way.

For this mornings experiment, I ran 7 of the neo's and 1 celestion guitar 10" high-passed at 500hz. Sounds great! Maybe better than with the two mod10's. Im so tempted to bring it to the gig tonight but, the berg is already loaded in the truck and the weather is pretty crappy so, I guess thats what I'll be gigging with tonight. The only other top end driver I'd like to try is the eminence Copperhead. That has the right tonal profile. Probably better than the celestion even.

BTW, I'm liking the Mod. It's spl profile is almost a dead on match for running over my single 1505 BW 15". Ends up with a little dip around the 1khz nasally area with fat lowmids and a nice top that's not overly bright/harsh.

I've an email in to Don at LDS. If I take the plunge on getting a similar cab and go with the 8th speaker being a guitar one as you did I will try the Copperhead. Though I kinda think I'd be fine with 8 speakers the same.

Just an update. Im still loving my lds 810. I would have to say that if I was going to change anything, I probably would go with a 6x10 over the 8x10 and would probably load is with the fan 10-125 drivers. I still may cut it down some day and do just that. We'll see. The 8x10 is just so much damn cab!
