I'm building a talk box using a selenium D250x cone driver and I know my old,never was any good,Shure mic has to go.I'm asking for some suggestions as to what to get.The mic will probably never get used for anything but the talk box.Thanks

I use a SM57 with mine works just fine.

Your older shure mic is probably the best choice. Use a dynamic mic with a hf rolloff for best results. Sm 57s are good cause you can get it very close to your mouth to avoid some throat noise.
