Talkin' baseball -- What would be your "walk-up" song?

dalkowski

It's "rout," not "route."

Last night I attended Angels/Red Sox at Fenway Park. I could go on for pages lamenting the decline of the MLB fan experience at the ballyard, but instead I'll co-opt a piece of it: the walk-up song!

QUESTION: What song would you want to hear over the PA as you take those steps from the on-deck circle to the batter's box?

I'll lead off with "Airbag" by Radiohead.

Yea Fenway has become quite sad these days. It's more of the cool spot to be for yuppies attached to their iPhones and blackberries rather than the greatest place on earth to watch a baseball game anymore. Sucks.... Anyway, that being said.... "Triumph" by the Wu Tang Clan...... I BOMB ATOMICALLY!!!!!!!

well i'd be on the brewers as wisconsin rocks plus i could punch ryan braun in the face. id also have a hat that the brim is actually curved. no warm ups for me...im hiding in the dugout...the people get uneasy....and then right when the music starts im come barreling out of the dugout....before stepping into the batters box i break the bat over my knee....but wait its not my bat...its ryan brauns...i have ryan bring me out my real bat as the music continues and i give him a snuggie for his troubles...i then flinch and swing wildly at three straight pitches without coming close to contact as reality set in.

*Sigh* C'est vrai. Friggin' pinkhats.

Last night I took a few moments to describe to my sons what the Monster looked like when I was their age back in the 70s. With a smaller scoreboard at the bottom, a net at the top and nothing but green paint in between.

Wrigley is similarly infested. At least you can't put ads over ivy. And the bathrooms are as lovely as ever.

the imperial march from star wars

to scare the other team
Ramon Castro had that with the Mets.

You should see the As now. One guy has Careless Whisper. Hundreds of people in the stands pull out saxes (mostly toy ones) to mime along with the song. I think I would go Baba O-Riley - that synth into the crashing chords would be great.
