So my current setup is .100, .85, .65, .45 on my jazz. Now I want to stick with a .100 and found in a recent post I made that the Dunlop's I use will work with my incoming reverse tele neck, which is great. However my current neck has issues so I have the action really high and cannot get the string to properly intonate as I'm guessing the action is so high. 12th fret is always flat. I was just looking at my strings at the end of the bridge and where the string bends over the saddle ( witness point ) the wraps are right up to the saddle where the string bends over, so no more room if needed to move the saddle back when I get the new neck ( if it even needs to be moved back more ). I was thinking maybe I should just go with taper core but I want to stick with a .100 E string and I want nickel plated. I know i could string through the body but the reason I didn't with the E was if you look close at the pic you will see it is an extreme bend if I were to go through the body. I had trouble when I was using .105 E string and going though the body. I have not tried it with a .100 but still look like an extreme bend. I have tried .110 and .105 E strings and just like the tone and feel from a .100, mostly the tone. Any thoughts ?

Probably looking at D'Addario single string collections is the easiest way to get the .100 taper string that you're looking for. For Nickel Plated Steels, they have the XL Nickels and NYXL in 100T.
Thanks, I'll look into those. Maybe just a single .100 D'Addario and the rest Dunlop's. Was told D'Addario will also have enough length for my reverse headstock, so that's good. Really prefer Dunlop's or DR sunbeams but beggars can't be choosers . Worse case I will just have to string through the body and maybe get away with pushing down really hard at the witness point. I do this after I install a new set of strings and after intonation is set but don't like to push real hard and over due it. Good thing is I like dead rounds so I won't have to change often.

Yeap, I replied to your other thread about the reverse headstock thing by showing my hybrid fretted-fretless Ibanez bass which has similar stringing to a reverse headstock, which factory strings were D'Addarios' and currently is using Dunlops'.

XL Nickel would be tighter/far less flexible than Dunlop Super Bright. The taperwound version is going to be slightly more flexible. But, probably the NYXL taperwound would be much closer to the Super Bright, since the NYXL is also constructed with smaller diameter hex core just like the Super Brights. Although, I've compared similar 45-105 gauge Super Brights vs. NYXL (none were taperwound), the Super Brights are still more flexible.

Thanks for replying again ! Ya, I want something pretty flexible but may have to give some of that up if I end up needing a taper core. Glad to hear that the taper core are still somewhat flexible. I may order a set of super brights and a single NYXL taper .100 and if the super bright E string cannot make the bend I will at least have a taper core that will work in its place. Not many nickel plated taper core nickels that run long ( overall 50" length ).
