The man clearly saw the officer draw his taser and point it at him. If he didn't know that he was at risk of being tasered based on that, he should probably be required to wear a helmet at all times.

The man clearly saw the officer draw his taser and point it at him. If he didn't know that he was at risk of being tasered based on that, he should probably be required to wear a helmet at all times.
Right...listen to what the guy had to say when in fact the guy was walking away and reaching into his pocket? You know, we should all just coddle criminals and hold their hands and give them "time to explain themselves"...oh wait

for all he knew the guy could have been pulling a knife. I know I keep one in my pocket.... When an officer asks you to put your hands up or remove them from your pockets there's a reason for it.

How about acting like a decent human?
I suppose that's too much to ask. It's OK. The courts will sort it all out for him. Teach him a little about how to act like a decent person. I suspect the community will also ostracize him...and with good reason.

Neither the arrest nor the tasering was because he was speeding.
After watching this video I feel both side could have handled the situation better.Just wondering does anyone know if its illegal to not sign a ticket? Seems to me that is the question we should be asking. If so the guy should have surrendered to the officer, if not the officer should have let him go. If he failed to obey a lawful command then yes the officer imo was in the right, if it were me, I wouldn't be wrestling with some dude on the side of the highway either. With that said I feel like the officer should have done a better job of explaining to the driver that his options were to A) Sign the ticket or B) Get arrested.

Look man, the roadside is a very dangerous place for discussions. You've seen the videos of cops getting sideswiped by cars while conducting traffic stops. Can you blame the cop for being impatient? I thought he handled it well. I woulda lost it when the girl jumped out of the car.

How exactly was the cop supposed to know the guy wasn't going back for a weapon or reaching for a weapon as he walked away?

I mean, I really want to know, over here you just get it you like it or not...

It is illegal to not sign the ticket and you can be arrested for it. Lesson #1 - Don't reach into your pockets EVER, when confronted by an officer. He yells put your hands in the air, you put your hands in the air. He tells you to get on the ground, you eat pavement. Reaching into your pocket could get you killed. The cop doesn't know what you're reaching for at that point. You want to get your ID out, ask him if he would like to see it. If he says no, you leave your hands in plain view. If I was on that jury in a civil case, I would make the plaintiff pay the cop's defense costs on top of ruling in the officer's favor.
