The Freestone neck is VERY stable. It hasn’t moved a bit since the install.

I had a lot of gear heads and bass players asking me about my bass and rig…
Cool to know I’m intriguing them… my evil plan.
I had a blast playing it. Now it’s time for new strings. I looked at it while playing..and saw fret wear on the strings…realizing that they were a used set of strings that I put on while putting it together.
Edit: Added a reminder of the strings I used.

If I’m had to change anything on this bass right now, it would be the “reverse” tuners I purchased by mistake.
It’s not that I can use them properly or anything. I’m just not used to them, especially in making quick adjustments while playing. Oh well.

When I changed the strings it got kind of noisy, too much muhwaa, buzzing, clacking. I usually don’t mind some noise, but I did adjust the truss rod. The initial neck install had only a courtesy tightening turn on it.
The truss rod is completely loose and it plays better.
I’m not sure if it has a dual action truss rod. I may contact Freestone and ask.
I also got out my “other” fretless and noted it didn’t have the same punch as my new one. Those PU’s on the newer walnut bass are powerful!
Gigging tonight, I hope the adjustments I made are stable, they should be it’s been a week.
One thing I did notice with the old bass…it fit my hand like a glove..I played it for 40 years.
I still love the new one very much!

Yes, thanks. It seems to tighten when turning counterclockwise...so I'm assuming it a dual action truss rod.

Wired stereo. Each pu is tapped for full volume and half volume. Two of the switches are full/off/half volume. The last switch is…ugh…mono/stereo.
The PU’s we’re made by Tom Brantley Rewinds, modeled after the tapped Schecter pu’s I have in my “other” fretless bass. He also repaired the P pu from that bass that didn’t work.
Highly recommended!
I'd like to play that sucker 1 day. I have thought about wiring all my bases pickups straight to the jack, but I guess that would just be silly.

Yup, thanks…the rounds are cutting through the finish. Probably will remove the finish on the fingerboard at some point. A very fun bass to play!
The other night a woman asked me if the bass was one piece!
Wired straight up is basically what it is. It’s not silly, I have two basses this way. Tone can be controlled by where you play near bridge/neck. Volume….playing dynamically.
Or turning them knobs they put on the amplifier.
I never adjust the knobs on my bass or the amplifier... sometimes a bit on the amp.
