I posted this in another thread. But I can't stop emphasizing how important not looking stupid is.

Here goes:

Hey, since this is a tattoo thread and all, I've got something I have to tell all of you. I have seen a lot of you caucasians(I'm chinese) getting tattoos of Chinese characters.

Many of these chinese characters that you guys ink on your skins for the rest of your lives have either no meaning (both on the streets and online), or do not hold sufficient meaning on its own. My friends and I have seen many non-Chinese with tattoos that do not make sense. Chinese is a language that usually requires more than one word to hold some content. I'm not going to go into detail how wrong it is since it would take too long for me to explain phrasing and all. I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to put across.

PLEASE, check with your chinese speaking friends on what the words mean before having them stuck on your skin and looking like a fool for the rest of your life. Do not always trust online websites or the tattooist.

Or you could just PM me the word you want to tat, and I can probably give you some decent advice.

Cheers!

good advice, and i agree with you. most people assume the flash with those character are 100% accurate. i personally am not a fan of those tattoos, but if people are going to get them then they need to do some research and ask someone who actually knows what the hell they are talking about.

I'm gettin' my tat tomorrow (on the arm) and I've got a question that I'm interested in getting answered so it's posted here & in the weightlifting thread.

How long generally before I'll be able to go back to heavy lifting and running?

you can still do that stuff man, depending on where you get it the lifting could be some what of a pain in the ass, but i run 3-5 times a week.

yay, Tattoo club member #24, I play LeFay Basses exclusively! and this is my LeFay Waran, thanks guys.

Awesome bass and tattoos man! I love your band too, found out about you guys from the Madison Amps website a while ago. Congrats on the new record deal and I hope to see ya'll at the Chicago Powerfest!

And back on topic, I want in too. I'll post a pic after I get the bottom part of my half sleeve finished!
