I just can't justify the money to carry a Kimber, Glock, Beretta or the like. Even used they start about $600 and go up.
If I was carrying, it would be a revolver. You could drop it in the mud and it would still fire. Can't say the same for a semi-auto.
I've never had my S&W act up in the 30 years I've owned it, and I fire it every weekend at the range. Can't say the same for my Browning 9mm.
lolz. I really want to shoot one of those!
Also, I'd love to try out THE JUDGE. Shooting 4-10 shotgun shells from a revolver looks like fun.![]()
For every day carry, I would recommend a Glock. I've had one as my main carry gun since the mid 90's and have never had a failure. I also own 2 Taurus revolvers and have owned their autos in the past. The revolvers are great, but the autos were sometimes touchy. If if need to draw and fire a weapon, I don't want anything other than reliability. Do you really want the last thought that goes through your head to be "Man, I should've sprung for the extra $125!"?
When it comes to firearms, for the most part you really do get what you pay for.
My daddy always told me "Never skimp on 3 things in life son, and that's tires, brakes, and firearms". Pretty good advice!
I would be afraid to buy a used hand gun from a private party. What if the seller used it to do something bad?

I have a Taurus airsoft pistol. Look at the me the wrong way and I'll give you a tiny bruise somewhere!
Not the easiest carry but it's a good dependable pistol, good gun to leave at home.Awesome feedback people, thank you. I have a co-worker selling a Ruger .357 Magnum Security-Six revolver. He wants $400 for it, comes with a nice leather holster. I am thinking about offering $350 just to see. Not really a great carry weapon... I would guess? But cool nonetheless.
