I never had the opportunity to play one, but the Tacoma Thunderchief basses I have played (which are smilar) came with Elixers and sounded nice with them, although I am not an Elixer fan. It seems to me that Taylors have come stock with Elixers for years on their acoustics, but that may have changed.
I like flat and tapewounds on my ABGs because the have less noise and sound sort of "uprite-ish" to my ears.
