If'n I had the time to do it, some shots I might like to redo with this project in mind might include:

Fender Japan Tele Thinline.
IMHO, the neck pup sounds similar, but not same as, the Squier Vintage TB; the bridge pup is predictably thin in comparison.
Neat basses, both of them.
The Precision A/E below benefits greatly from installing a buffer for the piezo, which I think Tom has already done.
What are these basses? They look quite nice ;0)

geez tom, when are you going to quit messing around and get some decent gear?![]()
You beat me to it, Alan!
They are both really great basses, but yes, the Precision A/E can benefit from some tweaks. First off, that piezo definitely needs a buffer, and the buffer helped a great deal. But, not one to leave well enough alone, I also decided to replace the magnetic pickup with a Nordstrand, which my tech tells me made a HUGE improvement (I haven't heard it yet). We also decided to try a Bartolini stacked bass/treble preamp, and it sounds like we are going to buffer the Nordstrand pickup, as well (the blend is more natural when they are both buffered). I'm going to see if Walter will build me a buffer for the magnetic pickup, as well.
Tom.
I'm In!! Here is my Fender Victor Bailey Jazz Fretless. I have the original Photoshop file if you need it.
