You may not want to say that without rocking one first. I a/b'd them when going to purchase and this won out.

I'd love to A/B them. Unfortunately, even in the Seattle area, I have not seen both of these models in stock at the same store. When I checked two weeks ago, the local GC had an older model MB115 (which isn't the same), but they didn't have this model. Another local music store had this thing, but doesn't carry GK products.

I guess I'm not in a hurry.

IMO, the TC just has more balls. It's worth taking a good look at.

As stepswork4me says, at even money, some will choose one or the other. The MB115 II is attractive, no doubt. Strictly speaking, it is $50 more.

In terms of deals MF, and I'm sure others almost always have some kind of deal going... 15% or even 20% off map.

Well i love the BG250 thus far. I bought two of them for stacking when i play louder gigs but most gigs i have i can suffice with just one. So the other day i let our keyboard player check the other one out at practice and he absolutely LOVES it for keyboards. He used it on a gig and ran direct and the sound man said it was the best his keyboards have ever sounded. He was also digging the grind he was getting turning up the tube tone with his fender rhodes patch. So there is another use for this great amp!

But i was on youtube and ran into the Acoustic B200 and was wondering if anyone on here had a chance to check that out and if so how it may compare to the BG250? The limited youtube clips i heard i must admit it sounds good and has a nice old school vibe it seems. You never can tell how you like an amp though until you play it yourself so was throwing that out to some ears here who own the BG250 that may have experience in listening to the Acoustic B200. Always loved that tone Jaco was getting out of his large solid state Acoustic amp and hey that SOUND was RIGHTEOUS!! When i saw Acoustic came out with these new small combo's today it seriously peaked some interest. Happy New Year gang!!

I did a couple weeks ago . I say they were each good or their price. Did I leave saying to myself, "I gotta get one of these ?"
No. I really didn't. They are what they are, nice practice combos that can be used for small gigs ,imo. The acoustic didn't do anything me. The fact that effects from the BG25O can only be sent to f.o.h. in post e.q. pretty much negates the point of even having them , for me. TC makes good effects so what a bummer. I went into the music store with the idea of possibly buying two if I liked how they sound and having one run clean and the other with effects.

In fairness, the BG wasn't coupled to the floor when I tested it and probably had an impact on my opinion. The reason I feel that there would be a difference is because I also checked out the Orange 2-12 combo at two different locations. One where it was on the floor and one where it was sitting on another cab for space efficiency at GC. Sitting on the floor the orange sounded great. Very full and warm. Elevated, not so much. Next time I'll ask to put it on the floor when I try it out and report back.

Yes it would ...and does because I've played out twice that way before and it's actually 500 watts.

One thing I remember from interpersonal comm coarses... Communication problems rarely stem from one party or the other but things usually get lost in the middle.

Zzounds just offered me $12 off the $399. price, not enough to bite. Two other oline stores wouldn't price match the MF 15% offer since they found MF doesn't have them in stock. There's a refurbed one for $299.00 out there. But for just another hundy or less, I'd rather get a brand new one. Though it does say the refurbed comes w/full factory warranty. I'd like to know what the fix was.

Either way, it would be shipped to my door. If it comes with any issues will have to hassle the return ship process. Maybe picking one up at local GC is best. I can try it out firsthand and compare to the other bass combos they have at same time. I'm also liking the Peavey Max 112/115 specs; cept for their weight. Have not tried any of these firsthand yet.

Yeah, I think I saw the Max 115 is like 50lbs. I have to park at a highrise parking garage in downtown Houston. Then I take elevator to street level and have to schlep a couple big city blocks to rehearsal space.

I've been taking my Fender Rumble 100 combo. Its abit heavy too but with the popoff casters I can mostly roll it along. It makes loud rattles as it rolls along and hitting sidewalk cracks, etc might cause internal issues at some point. So I half lug it-half roll it, PITA.

Or I use my GB Neox 112T on a folding cart. It sounds great with my Markbass F1 head. Still be nice to have a single unit combo and with built in tuner, effects wont have to carry seperate gearbag for that.

But a TBer mentioned I prolly could not lug the BG250 thru downtown streets as the amp is cumbersome to one hand carry about. I could prolly still use the folding cart then just backpack axe in bassbag with pockets for strap/cable. When I see a good price I prolly snag one. Looks like I can make use of BG250 at my restaurant gigs, practice and I hope I will like it's tone better than my old Rumble100.

Not sure it can beat the Neox112T+F1 head. That little rig pumps some nice tone/volume with any of my 5 stringers. Guess I have to drop into GC this week.

Lol..thanks! The only reason I found it was because I had it in my cart for a few weeks now, and when I was just searching for something else a few minutes ago, I saw the TC 20% off deal was still good on the BG250. At $319.99, it's still a smoking deal for such a great amp! I really like mine, ALOT, and I'm a pseudo gear snob. haha If you look at my profile, I've been through a ton of equipment, and this little BG250 can definitely hang with the big boys.
