TC Electronic Staccato Underpowered

Was wondering when you'd stumble in here. Probably too busy playing really cool gigs with really nice gear........really, no joke.;)
:D Not today. Actually I was repairing really nice gear. Had to take my SVT into the shop because it developed a hum, and had to go buy a couple pre tubes for my B-15.

Tomorrow is gig day, though I have to drive 2 1/2 hours, which takes the edge off of any really cool gig ;)

from 2009

Jimmy you never really liked Tc in the first place?
Wrong, Detective Darko. I never owned one but I loved their chorus. Thought it was the best on the market. And their pro audio stuff and recording plugins are pretty great as well.

But let's assume I never liked their stuff in the first place...does that mean they didn't lie about the power their bass amps put out?

"In the case of RH450 we choose a switch mode power supply design with a long term power performance of 250watts, backed by a peak reservoir carefully matched to reach 450 watts under terms of the crest factors of bass signals as described above
Figure 5 outlines a very simplified example of how a water analogy may be used to explain how the power source, peak reservoir and general power flow are combined"

i meant the company itself not there products that your not happy with.
you didnt seem happy that you didnt get chosen to test pilot the rh450?

I was more unhappy that they sent me an electronic coupon for a free footswitch with purchase of the head in lieu of a real consolation prize. A discount on the head or no consolation prize at all would have been better than only offering a footswitch if you buy something. But yeah, I freely admit that it was totally lame of them to base who they chose on the number of Myspace friends they had rather than credentials, especially when Myspace was well on its way to becoming irrelevant. I'm happy for those who got them, and a few of the folks they chose like John Wentzen actually deserved to be chosen. but I thought they missed an opportunity by not choosing me, since it seems my recommendations actually sell gear for companies ;)

Did I overreact? Probably. But in the end, it all worked out for me. Ampeg loves me and I love them :D

So Jimmy not being chosen made TCE do what they did specwise? Wow, Jimmy, you really have more influence than I realized ; }
LOL! Yeah, well when they've got nothing else to say, they always to go to this test pilot thing and claim I'm only saying it because I'm bitter. No, I'm only gloating about it because I'm bitter! But the facts is the facts.

...And then we took that power supply and carefully instituted APM Technology that limited the actual output of the amp to 236w (either peak or RMS), so that the carefully matched 450w power source that is inside and also name checked in the Amp's name, and quoted in the specs can never be attained, even for an extremely brief 20ms burst.
