TC electronics BH550 issue:-(

So I recently picked up a BH550 on CL. It powers up fine np. Then when some time passes after the bass is plugged in it starts to intermittently turn off then back on!
Funny on how the guy who sold it to me asked that I call him to make sure everything was up and running OK with the amp (interesting). So after playing for a couple of hours everything was cool. Then the next day this started happening. I appreciate any information you great folks here on TB can give me.
Tried it with different cables, basses, etc.

Sounds like the guy overheated it. It's going into protection mode.

Or simply, the power cord or jack is shorting out. You'd find that out by wiggling the cord while it's on.

But, I'm pretty sure it's going into protection mode. If that's the case, he's destroyed the amp. Try to give it back him.

Im thinking the power cord input maybe the problem. Just reached out to the seller. Not that’ll it’ll help but at least he’ll be made aware. It sucks! Cause I’ve truly dig the amp.

That's some interesting assumptions and conclusions that nobody who designs amps would come to...

First, Is the amp's power input rated for the power in your area (ie. it's not set up for 230V and you are trying to operate it at 120V?

Second, plug the amp into the power source with nothing connected to the speaker jacks... does it still go into protect? If not, that generally indicates that there may be a problem with either the speaker cable or the speaker.
