TC RH450 Club

It's in the car and it's been pouring for hours. It's from cramming an RS212, RS210, Shure Bag with RH450 and RC4 and a bunch of cables, 2 cases, my PT-3 in an ATA case, dolly and music stand and guitars stands in and out of a Prius an average of 6 or 8 times a week. I thinks it from shutting the doors. I'll post some up when monsoon season is over or Sunday morning, whichever comes first.
I DID break a knob today! Again, constant schlepping around in and out after doing our Independence Beach Blast today at the beach. Had lots of fun! Nothing like good tone, salt spray and way too much food on a semi sunny day with rain circling all around, but never coming close. God is good!

My RH450 has burned out. I play through my RH450 every sunday, the sunday before yesterday I played normally at rehearsal, as always. Yesterday I put the power cord, the speakon and then I switched on and
doesn't worked. Any light on the frontpanel has lighted up.
Does anybody has happened something similar? Is it very bad?
doctor doctor is gonna be saved?
I bought my Rebel Head 4 years ago, 5 at least, (so the warranty is over for sure) and never have had any problem with it. And now that I have several gigs this summer.... snif snif... and now I haven't a back up amp...

Did you checked with
another cabinet
another speakon cable
with headphones
with another instrument cable
with another bass,
changing each at a time may help identify the problem/culprit/narrowing RH450 faulty part.
Some time ago, someone panicked about its RH450 giving no more sound, to discover later the headphones jack had a small problem. The lights being on, are they moving when you move the knobs? Is the tuner picking up the notes properly? Can you switch between settings?
Try and find the circuit schematic, and test the different outputs: send/returns, DI, AES/EBU, rehearsal cinch. This can help you find out its the power amp vs preamp stage.
Don't you experience high temps that could put the head in safety mode?
Good luck to you, it's never enjoyable to go through this.
Go and try the RH750 in the meantime, time to gas about something to replace it until the head comes back alive.

I took from the context that he meant that the lights are not coming on. Seemingly simple things don't translate to/from English too well sometimes.
I have no input other than best wishes that it's an easy (inexpensive) fix. If not a new amp, it's probably time to look into a backup.
Man... This seems to be quite a crack. The corners are made in woods following TCE docs, so these cracks seem to follow the joints between round corner pieces and flat side ones. I'd say the cabinet has been squeezed a bit too much in your Prius backdoor slamming test. Following geometrical rules, the same cracks should be at the opposite of the cabinets.
Did you check from the inside of the cab, by removing front grille and speakers, to check if they affect only finish (I doubt it though, they are quite clearly due to wood joints that have been forced)?

Yeah. They seem pretty stable but if worse comes to worse, I'll do either an inside or outside splice or even try drilling the cracks and injecting the cracks. You are right about the corner construction though. The cabs are basically (sides) 2 top and bottom slabs and 2 side slabs with 4 corner bent plywood 1/4 radiused pieces. Not sure how they are attached. Maybe either bonded and spliced or bonded and pinned. One thing is, they are not rattling or making any noise so until they split I'm not going to touch them. When they go it will be a pretty easy fix. Maybe even fiberglass patches with some veneers of some kind on the inside. I've only seen a couple that broke and they were the 410 RS cabs used from 123 on eBay. They looked like they got dropped pretty hard. Anyway. I love these cabs! They sound great and they're easy to handle. This is my RS210 cab so if it got where I couldn't fix it, and I don't think that is possible, I'd pickup another RS212 and call it a day.

Sorry about that, but I'm still confused, do you mean that no lights are on, or some lights are on or all lights are on? Any is problematic here. Do you use it as in 'I can't see any lights on.'?

This week I have had repaired my RH450 by the official TCE service partner in my country. It has costed me 70 €.
They have changed a chip that has access to the main memory of the amp. Because of that chip the amp seemed to be burned out.
So luckily my RH is saved and ready to get gigged tomorrow.
