Are they any different to the 450 knobs?

I've contacted them through their site - hopefully they send me a new set.
Were you feeding it a fairly hot signal? What about overall volume? The power management will compress like a tube amp when pushed hard. Does it happen at all volume levels?Horribly disappointed with this amp and cabinets (RS210, RS212) for fretless!!
The squeezing I am referring to seemed to be some inherent character of the amp itself, even with the SpectraComp zeroed.
Yeah, I never was a huge fan of the cabs, but I've had pretty good luck with the head's dynamics, so maybe the amp could work for you but just with some other cabs and maybe with some different settings? Using much eq on the bass?A/B'd it with my Eden WT-405 head and got some of the harmonics back, but the cabs were still way too stiff.

I think my sound is cleaner if I reduce gain some 3 clicks down (my gain was already low because my basses give a very hot signal). And then using a higher master volume. I read this opinion on TB, I was reluctant to believe it. But i tried and I have the impression that this works to have a clean sound.

I ended up liking the RS210 way more than the head. To my ear, one of the best 210's out there. Very even, nice but controlled low end, and the coax tweeter is a thing of beauty. That cab with my F500 or LMII was really something IMO. Very 'Bag End' like to my ear.
Also, I found the RH450/RS210 rig wonderful for fretless playing. Lots of warm mids and no super deep low end or sizzle to mask the 'woodiness' of a good fretless tone. IMO there, but man, I recommend that rig for fretless players to this day. Of course, I didn't run the head 'neutral'.
I unfortunely don't have a clip posted of my fretless Mouse prior to selling it, but for the OP, here is a clip of my fretted Mouse (which still has quite a bit of that woody fretless vibe) through the RS210 and TCRH450. If you have a good set of phones, you can literally hear that 'wood' coming out of that instrument.

Great rig for fretless if you like the 'mwah' of a fretless tone, due to the warm midrange voicing.
IMO!
Ken, of all your clips that is definitely my favourite.
KJung said:That rig is really made for the Rob Allen basses, if you are interested in 'wooding them up'. Really nice rig for that sort of 'mid present, warm' vibe IMO.
Thanks! I love that little bass.
Wow... seems like maybe you have kinda' tried everything... I guess I've just had different experiences, but I don't know why. Oh well... I'm sure you'll find something that works better for you. Lotsa' great products on the market.Ran this amp/speaker combo...
