TC Sub 'N' Up Octaver! New Octave Pedal!

I will certainly try one out when they come out, but in these demos, to me it's sounding closer to the Whammy Pedal/Pog school of octaving rather than the OC-2 school. Which is fine, I guess...but I would think if they advertise old school monophonic octaving that there's no reason not to make it sound like an OC-2, being digital. Or am I wrong about that? Or am I being a big poopy pants whiner?

Just look at their Polytune Mini - the main selling point is the polyphonic tuning, but that feature is disabled for bass because they "didn't think bassists would want to strum"

@jbybj mind not lost I just run 2 octave pedals on my board for specific reasons and sounds.
If the sub n up is not too different from what I have already and I add it, then yes I have lost my mind, if however it does a proper sub job like a meatbox or something similar then I could justify it

I think you misunderstood. What's "crazy" is thinking it's silly to have 3 or more octave devices. That's simply not thinking clearly.

LOL! Well in my case they're right. I don't even use poly mode with guitar. I find it useless on either.

I also have a source audio multi wave distortion which has octave capabilities, so I am moving step by step towards sanity

LOL! Well in my case they're right. I don't even use poly mode with guitar. I find it useless on either.

I do see plenty of guys here who use them. My main is the ST-300m but for my rock trio, I haven't been able to beat that Hardwire polyphonic. It's just faster than chromatic, for me.

If I hadn't just got a 5-string, this pedal would certainly be of interest. Makes me wonder if they'll do a deluxe version (like the flashback/ditto etc) that can do real whammy stuff with an exp pedal

im thinking there will be tone prints for bass obviously but to me the lows do seem a bit flubby, i wasnt blown away. im guessing there will be an oc-2 toneprint etc and i know that toneprint opens up the ability to have modulation on the octave but it just doesnt sound that great to me at least but i would like to see a bass demo.

Never heard a digital octave (down) that could match analog for tone and immediacy - most have a noticeable processing delay. Look forward to being proved wrong though!

The tone settings in this thing are pretty ridiculous - you can set voice specific input EQ's and voice specific output EQ's including gain, then add their modulation engine on it - I'm not sure how much of the engine is there, but it's quite detailed at first glance. There may be an OC-2 similar tone in there, but i doubt its going to match the real deal.

I notice more similarities with the Meatbox with this one - especially the dirty sounds. But there are alot of sounds in there, and the latency isn't too bad, better than most!

I have 3 Polytuners and have never used the Poly feature on any of them for bass or guitar other than to look at it and say "hey, neat!" When I want to tune, I want to tune each string individually.

I'm probably going to get one. Shame there is no dry out like the POG which I was thinking of getting next for splitting between 2 amps. I love the octave sounds on my BH head. I have a MEATBOX on my board and was looking at a second octave pedal and this is going to be it.
