I feel the eq-section of my puma 500 is a work of genius. It is really about "tone shaping" and not just about cutting or boosting certain frequences. Bass control can give you extreme reggaetone, lo mid adds some serious punch, hi mids are super useful for adding "softness" (cutting) or grind (boosting) to your sound. And the hi is all about the "sheen" or sparkle that many people associate with tube amps. This combined with the taste knob gives you some serious versatility. I think I've heard the phrase "musical eq-section" a hundred times but never really realised what it means until now. I like it!
