TecAmp amplification club.....is there such a thing yet

I know some of you guys have talked about stacking the Lil G or mixing stacks but the Puma is rated for 8 ohms and 4 ohms.

Have you actually run a pair of 4 ohms which gives you a 2 ohm load?
Are there any problems or did the Puma/BlackJag remain cool even with the extra load?

I know I can run my Mesa Walkabout Scout down to a 2 ohm load (although I have never done it I have read lots who have w/o problem) so just wondering about real world experience with the Tecamp.

Glasstone has offered to make me two 8ohm 2x10 cabs with the exception that only one cab would have a tweeter. Thus a 4ohm 4x10 stack. still plenty loud enough for what I do.

I have a fEARful 12/6/1 and 12/sub stack (8 ohms) and it is massively overkill.
I have the Lil G in 4 ohms.

From a looking cool perspective, that 4x10 stack would be awesome but like my fEARful stack more overkill than practical.

I am gonna take the Lil G to my New Years Eve gig. With the Puma pumping out 900 watts I figure it will give the Lil G a true test and a real workout.

That stack that Brad showed a picture of was smokin hot so I can feel the unneeded need and GAS is a powerful motivator!

Look forward to hearing what you finally do.

Man, that is pretty hot! My only two concerns are the weight and of course the tone. The main thing that attracts me to TecAmp Cabs is the lightweight neo design. It seems hard to find vertical 212 lightweight cabs these days.

The M212 just seems like the perfect cab to me especially given the tweeter control for added tonal flexibility depending on the gig. I play a wide variety of music from neo soul to top 40's dance to varying kinds of speed metal. ;) If the updated cabs come with a similar tweeter control, I think it would still keep it a notch above my beloved Bergantino cabs for my purpose.

Looks real nice, personally prefer this look to the metal grille one. Can't wait for the tone report! I had my mind set for the bergantino hd series, but now that these come with ceramics (my preference) too I think I need to do some more thinking...

So what is the verdict on the LilG? I still like the idea of having the 2x10 stack (LOL!!!!)

I have played three gigs in two weeks with the TecAmp Black Jag 900, and it really is something special. Last night I ran the volume at 12:00, which is rare. I usually run it at 10:00, but it was a large venue. The amp always sounds musical, never harsh. It is warm, yet articulate. A fellow bassist in the audience said that the tone was clean, yet fat, not sterile. I ran it flat, and the tone was perfect.:hyper:
