I have bought Puma 500 about a month ago,and I am very happy I did.
I was buying without trying but I was lucky ;) I'm using it with GK 212 and this match very well, tone is clear, precise, punchy and tight quite modern sounding rig,and not to forget very loud!Sometimes I warm it up with Taste pot,but usually on every gig everything is Flat!

The puma 900 was more expensive than I wanted to pay. Now that I have it, I think of all the money I spent buying and selling amps looking for my sound. These days, finding an amp that can do it all with grace and balls seems priceless

I have both 500 and 900. Not much difference actually. I've mostly gigged the 500 and have never had it run out of headroom.

If you are using relatively small, relatively efficient cabs, +1, you won't notice a difference. Tonally, identical into the typical 2 x 112 at 4ohms or 410. However, if you are pushing a large 8ohm cab, or a very large 4 ohm rig at high volumes (like 2 x 212 or whatever), that extra oomph can make a pretty bid difference in handling peaks, etc.

+1 though, for the vast majority of players, the Puma500 is the thing!

I am using this rig for several years now:

Tecamp blackcat and two M212. Nothing can beat this or comes even near it in sound and quality

That is sick randy.. You are evil! I bet that new bn6 sounds ridiculous with that setup

LOL...actually its a fretted AC6 in the shoot(kinda like Tom's)... the BN6 is next, when I win the the $7K...I just put a call into FBass (marcel) too see if they have any P900 in stock...they were sold out the last time we talked...the M212 will have to come later..I have to drop some gear first.
But ..you are right...It would be completley ridiculous sounding!!!

But when the P900 arrives Im going to gig through my Ampeg Heritage 8x10(4ohm) first (shrugs shoulders..dunno what that would sound like..but gotta try as its in the stable)...but gotta say the M212 is first on my list ...but the L215's keep calling me!!!!!could be better???LOL
