Cool gig opportunity tonight. Outdoors on a mobile truck trailer stage with pro sound support. Things that made it really fun: drummer got to hit like he meant it, I got to push the volume up on my amp (if you’re running a Quilter, you know they want to go loud) and I ran the SH-1 with a lot of gain. Very satisfying to hear all that Steve goodness at gig volume through big speakers!

Finally put some paint on the blend 'knob' on my PDDI V1. No more twisting it to know its position..

Obviously not me and my rig (I don't actually own any Tech21 gear!) but I sure do like the playing and tone of Dug Pinnick. I've seen King's X perform around three or four times and they're just so good. Probably the most underrated band in rock and roll history!

dUg is amazing. If you look at his life and career, there is a lot there. He's sensational. And he still is as skinny as ever. Probably, what, 150 pounds outta the shower? I don't know his diet, but it's not what most of us eat, for sure.

I once walked up to him outside of the venue and complimented him on the stickers he had on his bass at the time. He was very cool and approachable.

New cab!

Ran it for the first time at rehearsal. The Super Twin has a EQ profile similar to an Ampeg 810. It sounds GREAT with high gain from the SH-1. I will tinker with the low gain sounds. It was fine but the character of the pedal wasn’t as present as I’m used to.

My big feet have a minor quibble with the layout of the SH-1, and presumably the other fly rigs. A couple of times I have accidentally boosted the level of Channel 2 when I activate the channel switch button. I find out the next time I use the second channel (gain cranked) and hear a huge jump in volume. Are there large knobs that seat on the Tech21-style buttons?

I kindly ask you for some advice: I currently have sh1 with which I am happy.. however I would like to buy another tech21 product not necessarily to stack them together and I am undecided between the fly rig v2 or the bass drive DI v2.. which in your opinion is better suitable to possibly be combined with the sh1? Thank you, I wouldn't want to make a senseless purchase, thank you very much

I own the Paradriver and the Q/strip, the Paradriver is a fantastic bass preamp, like the bassdriver plus a parametric mid control, the controls are very reactive, you have to start everything at noon and after tweak at taste, I recommend strongly, good tube compression emulation. The Q/strip emulate a Neve console channel, very clean sounding no tube emulation, can be usefull with a tube amp which have a limited eq control.

But my gig bag preamp is the Paradriver

I own the Paradriver and the Q/strip, the Paradriver is a fantastic bass preamp, like the bassdriver plus a parametric mid control, the controls are very reactive, you have to start everything at noon and after tweak at taste, I recommend strongly, good tube compression emulation. The Q/strip emulate a Neve console channel, very clean sounding no tube emulation, can be usefull with a tube amp which have a limited eq control.

I use the sh1 with the pre-set sound models and play with the two channels to have a clean sound and a distorted one if necessary...of the fly rig v2 I'm intrigued by the fact that it has the basics of the vt bass and the bass drive DI. .in addition to having chorus compressor and octfilter..I also like the idea of using the bass drive DI individually..thank you so much

I personally use the BDDI, both alone if going ampless to FOH, and also into my Rumble amp for gigs. Does everything I need and can get a big range of tones from BDDI.

I was considering the idea that if the fly rig v2 has the BDDI v2 circuit, isn't it more convenient to buy the fly rig? or is the fly rig missing some BDDI options? Thank you
