Sorry this has spilled over from the DI thread but am just wondering if the VT bass would act as enough of a boost to the signal to make it OK to use a passive bass through a Radial JDI and never have to worry about sending too weak a signal to the desk?
Or should I just get a J48 anyway?
I believe all the stores that were supposed to get them will be getting them this week, unless of course Tech 21 doesn't ship them.

That's wild how much in demand this pedal is. I hope if a programmable VT comes out that they make enough to keep up with the demand. I also hope it doesn't suck![]()
If you have no need for dirty sounds, I think the LMII gets as close to Ampeg tone as it gets in solid state amps so I think you really don't need to get the VT. The little grit it adds is great, but for $150 you can live without it. But if you want cranked amp sounds that are realistic, there is no other pedal.
I talked with my Tech 21 rep yesterday and they told me they won't be shipping until the second week of December. Bummer!!
Here's the response I got:
I spoke with Lydia at Tech 21 & she apologized for the delay in shipping the VT Bass pedal. She said they will have the parts to assemble the product on Monday or Tuesday of next week & will ship them out the 2nd week of December. She said shipments to the west coast will go first to insure that all dealers receive product around the same time.
Once again, sorry for the delay & feel free to pass this info on to your customers.
Looks like all dealers will be getting them about the same time. I have been taking pre-orders if anybody is interested.
Well, a 210 will do what it does, so you have to take that into consideration. But as far as matching tones, I once tried to match the tone of my 64 B-15 with the VT plugged into the Mini CMD121P I used to have. The speaker made it to where I couldn't get the exact tone, but I got what I thought was as close a recreation as I could get. I turned the VT off and compared it to the 121P set flat, and it was identical. So yeah, the VT will cop Markbass tones as wellHow close does the VT come to how the LMII sound? I tried a Markbass CMD Mini 121P 112 combo a few weeks ago and my bass has never sounded better! Rich and warm but clear and growly. Can I get that kind of sound out of the VT? I won't be playing it through a 112 - it'll be a 210 - but will it still be thick, rich, clear, and growly?
Well, it's all I've got - it'll have to do!Well, a 210 will do what it does, so you have to take that into consideration.
