Nevertheless, Rosie was one of those female singers that melted my heart. Looked great, and "Angel Baby" just slayed me... (Classic "belly-rubbin'" slow-dance song...)

I changed the title, here's another one:
When I was 16 a girl sang this to me on a street corner, never forgot it. Never saw her again.
This is a very lachrymose song
Oh yeah! LOVED this!
Now this/these wasn't/weren't tearjerkers, but they sure tugged on MY heartstrings. In 8th grade, my family moved to a different section of the same town (Johnstown, PA). I missed my old friends, so every day I'd hitch-hike back to the old neighborhood to hang out.
One day when I got to the main road from which I would start my thumbing journey, I saw something going on in a parking lot of a store. Looked like they were about to have some type of music, so I walked up the parking lot to see what was going on.
It was The Pixies Three ("442 Glenwood Avenue", etc.) getting ready to sing. I was right up front and they were interacting with the audience (and with me). Needless to say, I was on cloud 9. After the show, I started thumbing to the old neighborhood. In my fantasy world, I was hoping The Pixies Three would pick me up in their limo and smother me with lovin'.But alas, it didn't happen. Don't remember for sure, but I probably caught a ride with some gnarled old redneck in a chicken truck...
Anyway, here are "my girls"...
One of the first singles I ever bought, because of the little bass solo in the beginning.
