The finish will be amber on the neck, will give it a nice "vintage" look, and a lacquer finish on the body, similar to what Fender used to call a "thin skin" finish. With that finish there will probably be some lacquer sinking into the pores either right away or in the first year or so and the finish will age naturally more quickly.
Kudos to Scott over at Grove Guitars. He's been excellent with communication thus far, and right on target with the timing schedule (other builders please take notice!).

Chambering is somewhere between an art and science. Looks great! How much more do you think you could have taken out of the body without having any structural instability?

Thx, but I truly do not deserve such high praise. All I did was commission the build. Andy (Dark Horse) inspired me with his "Dyn-o-myte" build (see post #4 of this thread), I found a similar crate on e-bay, gave Scott a call and he took it from there.
Sure, I've had a lot of input in the process, but the artist here is Scott, really. As to the playing- yes indeed, I'll be doing that much!
