So...good segue. @Matt Kustom just sent me these in-line, humbucking split coil SFs put back in their original housings and I got the okay from my luthier Nick to add these to the shootout between original Peavey SFs, Matt's prototype SFs with pole pieces, and the neo prototypes he sent me. Stay tuned
Recent Super Ferrite build. Standard Humbucker size full custom build. Bass had a string fall off issue like the 5 string Peaveys. It's a tight fit but it is possible to fit a factory SF in a humbucker.

This one’s me. I was unfamiliar with Super Ferrites but thought I’d take a chance after some compelling reading. I’m kinda stunned by the punch of these pickups, absolutely amazing! Matt was so helpful in the process and did an amazing job! Now I want some for my Jaguar bass…
For anyone looking at 4 string Fender Jazz Bass pickups in Super Ferrite they are available. After looking at my custom magnet supplies 7string flank magnets for perfectly. Currently black covers are available. For those wanting exposed blade they cost a little more due to the extra work required.

They sound awesome. Some Rick vibes and maybe Rick meets Ray with the middle/bridge. The neck and bridge are aligned at about Rick pickup locations and the middle is a bout Pbass location. All 3 are impressively nice solo. I’m hoping to put in a Jbass SF order soon, Matt is the dude! Lemme know what you think from my poor-man’s Squire demo

Sounds good to me. Whenever I get sound clips ( always appreciated) I try to listen in the best way possible. I have a old school traditional HiFi set up and listen that way to best replicate the sound. These Super Ferrite designs always sound nice threw the system. The bass really comes threw on the 15inch woofers accompanied by two individually powered subwoofers. The subs really allow the bass player to be present in the mix.
Update on getting SF covers made for new SF pickups and other designs that fit into the cover. Neodymium , Humbucker , etc. Photos here are of a 3D printed part. The 3D part should be here in a few weeks. I will update this thread to let everyone know if these cover checks out once it arrives.

I agree you definitely get some Ric vibes here (makes sense, as the Peavey Patriot does a good Ric impression with these type of pickups). Definitely some Ric/Ray vibes too with the middle/bridge and bridge settings. Surprisingly enough, I'm digging the tone of the neck/bridge the most...that stunned me when I tried it on my Cosmic Turnaround bass...I didn't expect that tone to be so usable but it really is...especially with dirt.
Congrats on the amazing bass sir and great job! Great job @Matt Kustom fitting those SFs in a humbucker format too! The exposed blades look killer!
Prototype 3D print of Peavey SF cover recreations. The print file checks out. Whatever this is printed out of would not be durable enough for actual pickups but definitely proof of concept for the next stage of having these injection molded. The issue with injection molding is the cost of the mold itself. Some kind of plan would be needed to raise the funds for the mold. If this was to be 3D printing only something much more robust and durable would need to be used as a printing material. Any constructive feedback / thoughts about paying for the mold or durable material for printing would be appreciated

Good to see that the dimensions check out. The hole diameter for the height adjustment screw is smaller, but since the Peavey shell has had a screw run through it, the original diameter is hard to determine.
The finish is oddly shiny - looks like it's had some kind of solvent smoothing after printing. The shape has distorted some, with the long side walls now slightly curved. What does your vendor say about that? Might also be some sinking in some areas, but that could just be reflections. Do you know what material this is?

The 3D print has been sprayed with something. I did not ask about the curving. This was a inexpensive , quick test of the file. Turn around time was super quick for a fair price. The people were helpful and easy to work with. Project accepted , finished and at my door in under 7 days. Just wanted to get a prototype done. I do not know what it's printed out of. Whatever 3d printers use for rapid prototyping would be my guess. If anyone has a outlet that is accessable, easy to work with / good attitude with good pricing in the U.S. their contact information would be appreciated. From experience U.S. companies for small projects are notoriously difficult if not impossible to do business with. Also looking for a U.S. company willing to do nickel silver stamping of guitar covers. Again the companies I contacted in the U.S. are not willing to stamp these items.
Played a 2.5hr gig last night on the “Bass IV” with new 916 super ferrites. These sounded so fantastic and it was really cool to experiment with different pickup settings on different songs. I tended to favor the middle+bridge and middle, with a few songs in the bridge with overdrive when I was feeling dirty great stuff @Matt Kustom
