Do you still have P2 size 5 string version sets in stock?
If so, do they have a rail instead of pole pieces and would they work on a bass with 18mm string spacing at the bridge?

We have those in stock. The Super Ferrite 5 string is usually 72mm . With the 18mm string space it's no problem to make a set with blades in the 78mm range
Great, that would be enough span to eliminate any falloff at the outer strings.
Nice clean recording. Those pickups have really good depth with punch and clarity. They're single coil aren't they? Hard to believe because they are so quiet when soloed. I typically bias towards the neck or bridge but don't often solo a pickup and have avoided single coils because of their noise issues. Impressive!Hello Matt and everybody,
This evening I had a few minutes to record some audio.
First, I pulled the DG TC out of the bass pictured above, because I felt like it wasn't a good fit for this particular instrument. In its place I installed an Aguilar OBP-1, but with a 250kOhm volume put with a push/pull passive bypass. It also has a traditional 0.047uF tone cap. For these recordings, the pickups feed straight into a toggle selector switch, then into the the volume pot, which is pulled up to bypass the active preamp, and the tone control is full up. Recording chain is bass into my Focusrite Scarlett Solo, into Logic Pro, into two tracks that have absolutely no processing applied. I took the Markley Helix stainless strings off; these strings are nickel-plated steels - I forget exactly what kind, but they're not too old and they're not too new. One track for finger style, and one track for pick playing. Each track is the same riff played first on the bridge pickup, then both pickups, then the neck pickup. Sorry for any sloppiness!

Let me know your thoughts. Personally, I think they sound fan-freaking-tastic - I think they have that same aggressive single-coil clarity of the originals, which I'm thrilled about!

Single coils. The quiet for singles is due to the low wind design that is also shielded.
New Super Ferrite Jazz pickups in my Jaguar bass. As you can see, the pickup locations on this bass is a bit odd and quite different than a standard Jazz bass. I’ve tried multiple sets of pickups and it was hard to get a tone I was happy with, though I landed on Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders and they worked quite well. I had @Matt Kustom work these up for me and they are excellent! The clarity and punch really bring out the potential of this bass. Another 916 Super Ferrite win!
You have good taste in bass guitars. Very cool bass pictured here. I think you made the right choice with the exposed blades. Bass looks excellent.

Just received some prototype covers made in USA. These are tryouts for a few different filament types. Carbon Fiber PETG and PETG. The file was reworked to provide gussets at the mounting tabs for extra strength. The letters will need to be deleted as they do not turn out good enough to continue. The 3D printer seems to have a hard time with lettering at this size. Photos are of covers right out of the printer. 3D print will be the only option moving forward for new factory size covers unless the cost of mold for injection can be solved. Talked with my printer about what needs improvement and he has told me removing the lettering will make things easier/ better.The wavy issue of the PETG version will go away after text is removed and is a bit thicker. Should have pictures of the first correction attempt soon.
I guess what's in the photo? I don't know enough about pickups to say why those couldn't be used as standard humbuckers...isn't just a matter of winding each coil counter to each other?
There are various ways to cancel hum. Just a Matter of what the customer is looking for. Each design has a different effect on the field generated by the coils. The picture is of a split coil design requested by customer looking for closest to original with addition of hum cancel.

Feedback is very helpful to make sure these covers are satisfactory to those looking to buy replacement SF sized pickups
I don't know anything about SF sized pickups, but the top of that looks really nice.
