tell me about Super Ferrite pickups...need info...

Is this acceptable for Bart BC?

Interestingly, Nordstrand's Bartolini BC size (they use that name) is slightly bigger at 101.35mm × 32.36mm. Maybe they're compensating to eliminate a resulting gap when using the standard cavity route. Aguilar's are the same as Bartolini.

I have a box of the 108mm , 5 string version of these in stock. They are what fits Ibanez BTB 5 , idk what else they fit

That's Bartolini's P2 size. Lots of fivers use that size. Including one of mine! :)

Although I'm equally happy with EMG40 size too....

50 just ordered . They should be here in a few weeks.
 
It would be so cool if you could print "Nine One Six Super Ferrite" on the covers.
If I can find someone to draw up the cad files for new factory style I will do that. I have played with using my laser wo write on covers. I just need to protect doing that. The issue is is it's not done perfect it looks cheap
 
I just went through some notes on a few of my SF equipped basses. This covered about half of them, the rest are all cased up and I'm too pooped to dig them out to get to the notes in the case.
The all metered somewhere between 5.12 to 5.47K. No specific choice/placement or magnetic polarity for N or B. They seemingly had a bin of N and bin of S pickups, grabbed one from each bin, dropped them in and wired them up.

My 4 guitar SFs metered at 5.49-5.72K. These seemingly use the same magnets, etc... as the bass version. Just a different shaped coil, as they are just a touch larger than a standard guitar humbucker. These are also amazing pickups, they sound similar to a G&L MFD Jumbo single. Plenty of output, extended bandwidth.

They look great. Given that the SF is a blade, and these use pole pieces, how do they differ?
Not sure yet other than the sensing area will be shaped differently. Perhaps @Matt Kustom could answer the question better than I.

+1 to this comment and question. Also, are blades going to be offered? If no, will different string spacings be available?
The plan is to make bladed pickups once the pickup covers can be made/sourced (the hope is to at least be able to 3D print a couple of covers for bladed prototypes while trying to figure out an economical way to bulk source covers - they are just such a proprietary shape that no one would carry them). In the meantime, I decided with Matt to try a prototype with pole screws just to see how the coils would sound. Hopefully I (with help from better bass players than I (any Massachusetts local folks want to help out?)) can get some sound and or video clips up comparing stock to this prototype once I have it.
 
Once I get the scans done, printing covers won't be too bad. It will take time, moreso than cost lots in resin. Given the time, I'm thinking they might cost more than a generic cover, but won't be cost prohibitive.
I think the plan is to use a few 3D printed shells to make the prototypes while we research if there is a cost effective way to make covers (I think the originals were molded - @Matt Kustom please correct me if I'm wrong).
