Not to mention as a sight gag it wasn't funny when Wil Ferrel did it in his dinosaur movie, and it's just as stupid as dramatic hullabaloo here. Like you would not notice this thing comin at you. I mean, I can hear a mosquito from 5-6 feet away....and theyz b small.

I'll go along with that. Dr. McCoy would have at least have done a tri-corder scan on that bad boy to see if it was wrapped around the dudes medulla oblongata or not........

Land of the lost without Chaka....later to become Chaka Kahn....LMAO Modern civilians too stupid to figure out a better time to warp to...hmmmm...imagine that, sounds like Modern Society, I wonder when the idiot writers will incorporate Ninja's and Zombies....can't be long now...LMAO maybe even Aquaman and Spock to pull in the South Park Crowd, and the Big Bang theory watchers:p

I can't be 100% sure, but I thought they were using that creature to remove the oxygen from the man's body. He said something like "They told me it will take X hours, and that was X hours ago!!" so she took it off. It's basically a giant leech, a blood sucking thing, so maybe it removes enough blood?

Anyway, no it wasn't perfect but I was entertained and I don't regret watching it yet.

Yeah that's the same way I feel about it.
I'm not sure why everyone seems to be expecting some sort of absolute perfection in a show anymore. As I said earlier, with the state of modern television as it is with the dumbed down shows and crap programming, you really cant set your sights too high. The best you can hope for is to be entertained and in that respect this one delivered. It could have been better, to that I agree, but I really don't think it was as bad as folks here are saying.
One thing I will say is that it's predictable and cliche as hell and you can almost guess up front how it's going to turn out.

You want to know why I expect perfection in a show (and even more so in a movie)? Becuase these things cost A LOT of money to make, money that could be much better spent making something really interesting and worth viewing. But it all too often gets blown away on crap. Its wasteful spending on subpar programming that keeps a lot of good television shows and movies from being produced.

The biggest problem is that "Terra Nova" is trying to appeal to everyone. This has the effect of making it seem watered down and generic. There are too many predictable, boring characters. But I'd like to see what the writers are going to do with the rivalry between the Sixers and the main settlement. This, along with a few other things in the story line, has some real potential, IMO. I suspect that the Sixers have some legitimate grievances. In the preview to the next episode. the leader of the Sixers movement is saying something like-"you don't really believe in this starting over crap, do you?"

Agreed. Got the hint when my mom asked me if I was gonna watch it, because she's interested too. Nothing wrong with that, but...

I feel like I'd like it more if it was a Syfy produced show. Well...maybe not, I mean they're cancelling EUREKA. Ugh. But yeah, fix the characters and I'll love it.

Just a wild guess....but as it goes on we'll find out that the "Sixers" are actually the good guys while the gray-haired terra Nova leader dude will morph into the same character that that actor played in Avatar....we'll then have a moment where the family will have to make a choice of allegiance and, they will choose differently, split up for a few episodes then have this grand reconciliation at the end of the season....
